WARNING: Potential Spoilers for Poison Ivy #23!

DC has officially given Harley Quinn her own wild version of the Batmobile, making her the owner of the coolest vehicle in Gotham City, a title previously held by Batman. Instead of featuring the Dark Knight’s iconic bat theme, though, Harley’s new ride pays tribute to another animal, one that has been integral to her character from the very beginning.

The monster truck, with its Harley Quinn-esque theme, perfectly captures the Gotham Siren’s personality, leaving no doubt in any onlooker’s mind who this vehicle belongs to.

The preview for the upcoming June 4, 2024, release of G. Willow Wilson, Haining, and Arif Prianto’s Poison Ivy #23 gives fans a glimpse of Harley Quinn's new ride. The debut of the Gotham City Siren’s souped-up car comes at the height of the action in part two of the explosive climax of Wilson's second year on Poison Ivy.

In this issue, the plant-loving villain finds herself overrun by her zombified victims led by the reborn Dr. Jason Woodrue, AKA the Floronic Man—Ivy’s infamous ex and the man responsible for transforming Pamela Isley into the meta she is today. Luckily, Harley arrives in style to save the day.

Literally bursting onto the scene, Harley plows through the zombie horde in a massive monster truck, shouting, “Don’t worry, baby! I’m comin'!” Animals, wildlife, and zombies alike are thrown around as she races to rescue her girlfriend from her own mess. While the rescue attempt is notable, it's the appearance of Harley’s new ride that truly steals the show. The monster truck, with its Harley Quinn-esque theme, perfectly captures the Gotham Siren’s personality, leaving no doubt in any onlooker’s mind who this vehicle belongs to—much like the unmistakable association of the Batmobile with Batman.

Harley’s new vehicle is primarily pink but adorned with multicolored graffiti, showcasing an array of symbols, shapes, and character-specific homages. Alongside hearts, stars, and skulls, the monster truck boasts Harley Quinn’s signature red and black diamonds, as well as other suits of playing cards, including an electric blue spade. Additionally, brightly colored balloons are tethered to the back of the vehicle. Most notable, though, is Batman’s crossed-out bat insignia, which is interesting considering that the Gotham Siren has been treated as part of the Bat-Family in multiple pieces of media, including the main continuity comics.

Fans may have also noticed that Harley’s monster truck takes on a unique shape—the head of a dog, or more likely, the head of a hyena with its tongue sticking out. Hyenas have been closely associated with the Gotham Siren from the beginning, as they first became her beloved pets—Bud and Lou—in Batman: The Animated Series, where Harley Quinn made her debut. The fact that the monster truck also features a pink tongue further confirms that the ride is a tribute to Bud and Lou, as Harley Quinn’s hyenas are typically depicted with their tongues hanging out.
