What are the Lost Drengr in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

A drengr is a glorious and honorable warrior, one willing to go to the ends of the earth seeking righteous glory. The term can be literally translated as “badass” the lore patch from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s codex tells us.

These warriors were the elite and would have stood by Ragnar no matter the circ*mstance. Now they are somewhat lost, but still crave Valhalla.

In the game you will meet six Lost Drengr Warriors in England and Norway. They will each tell you their short stories and why they seek a glorious death by the hands of a mighty warrior after which you may accept or refuse to fight them.

If you refuse, they will remain there and will be available for fighting at a later time. Once defeated, they will drop some nice and rare loot for you.

Where to find the six Drengr in AC Valhalla

The six Lost Drengr Warriors are one of the eleven types of Mysteries in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. They are always located in the marked locations described in this guide below. Most of them share the same abilities and skills set, but with a few differences, mostly based on the weapon(s) they wield.

I ordered them in regards to their Power Level requirements from easiest to toughest. Still, even the easiest one can be a significant challenge if you are not prepared or low level. For each boss fight I have a recommendations which Skills and Abilities to slot.

Where to find and how to defeat Erik Loyalskull

This lost drengr is in a cave. The location is called Hildesvini’s Crag, in the south-eastern corner of the starter region Rygjafylke.

This is probably the easiest drengr fight, although Erik is no weak opponent. Erik fights with a hammer and an axe and rotates them in his hands often.

His special movements include a throwing axe pattern, which you should dodge and a light and heavy attack from above his head. You can dance around him with Brush with Death or opt to parry or block his attacks until he gets tired.

Hitting his weak spots with a bow and arrows will trigger a Stun Attack, which deals massive damage.

If you discover Erik early on because you thought about exploring Rygjafylke, don’t hurry to face him. He will be way too powerful for your current level, despite the fact that he is in the starter region.

Your reward for defeating Erik Loyalskull is a spear called Fafnir! I have it listed also in the Weapons and Shields Guide.

Where to find and how to defeat Thor the Fishmonger

This Drengr is located in a small farm near a small lake in middle of East Anglia, just north from the Wensum River. His recommended Power Level is 100 or higher.

Thor has fought in the great war alongside with Ragnar’s army and has won glory for himself, but is feeling lost now. You find him as he explains to his little boy of his desire to leave this world and join Ragnar in Valhalla. It is up to you to help send him there by defeating him.

You will fight Thor the Fishmonger in the middle of the lake, which means you will not be able to run fast, but the same applies to him as well. He fights with two spears and his special attacks include poking you with the spears as well as leading high into the air and landing on your position. Fire / Poison builds work on him.

His weak spots are his right hand, his left shoulder and his right knee. He is susceptible to Harpoon and Rage of Helheim. Both work very nice. If you fight him on higher difficulties, I strongly suggest picking up Grit and Brush with Death. There are mushrooms and flowers around the lake, so you can eat some to replenish your Health you have lost during the fight.

Where to find and how to defeat Nokkfylla Shine-Eye

This guy is available far into the cold north of England – at the Brunton Turret, near the spawn point, in Eurvicscire. His recommended Power Level is 270.

Nokkfylla is a bit crazy and you can tell that from the environment alone before you speak to him. He is seeking glory and access to Valhalla and admits that he is vile and should not be allowed to continue his life in Midgard.

Immediately when you agree to fight him, expect him to kick you far back. When he does that near an edge, he will knock you off. You wont take damage from that, though.

Nokkfylla fights with a long double-handed axe. You can and should parry his normal attacks to get a small window of opportunity to strike back at him.

Once again Harpoon and Rage of Helheim come in handy if you have them. This boss has the same weak spots – right hand, left shoulder and right knee. Exploit them to trigger a Stun Attack.

Where to find and how to defeat Gotafrid Fairrobes

Gotafrid is also located in Eurvicscire, south-east from Jorvik near the shores of Dervent River. His recommended Power Level is 300+.

This is arguably the most calm and polite drengr you will meet. He is quite a tough one in battle, though.

Gotafrid uses all kinds of weapons. In one of my tests he even fought me with a pair of round Shields. He may approach one of the few weapon racks available at the edges of the arena and pick up a spear to throw at you or switch his weapons.

He is most dangerous when dual-wielding shields. His ranged weak spots are again the same as the other drengr warriors – right hand, left shoulder and right knee.

Picking up Grit, Brush with Death is a must. The traditional abilities I tend to use in my melee builds – Rage of Helheim and Harpoon both work great. I’d also recommend you pick up the Missile Reversal Skill from the Raven tree to deflect the spears he may throw at you.

Where to find and how to defeat Skegjold Frenzy-Seeker

Skegjold is in Snotinghamscire in a freezing cold place called Thynghowe – some ancient roman ruins, just north-east from the legendary (to be) Sherwood Forest. This drengr has a recommended Power Level of 300 or higher.

There isn’t much to tell about this fight. This drengr has one unique requirement to fight you, though. You must first drink from the ale nearby. This, supposedly, puts you in a “Frenzied” state and you are equal and worthy to fight Skegjold Frenzy-Seeker.

The Frenzied stance looks very much like a drunk stance. You just drunk a healthy amount of ale, after all.

Skegjold is indeed frenzy and quick quick. Exploit her usual ranged weak spots to unlock a Stun Attack. The arena is not very big and the boss likes to shoot arrows at you.

The Harpoon ability is useful here, because there are plenty of obstacles to smash her against. Be careful for her leap attack. It will nearly one-shot you on highest difficulty level. If you have enough Adrenaline Slots you can use Rage of Helheim and a Stun Attack from hitting the weak spots and be done.

Where to find and how to defeat Orwig Neverdeath

The final drengr boss you have to defeat sends you back to Norway’s Hordafylke Power Level 380+ area.

How to find and defeat ALL Lost Drengr in Assassin's Creed Valhalla (19)

Orwig was part of Ragnar’s famous shield-wall. This is the reason he will fight you with two heavy shields and no other weapon. Make no mistake, though. He is very deadly with these boards.

This is probably the most challenging boss. Simply because it is the highest Health one. I recommend you to face him with a properly upgraded bow and arrows.

His ranged weak spots are the same as all other drengr bosses, but the two giant shields he wields and covers himself with make the spots hard to hit.

Still, the boss is relatively simple to defeat. Brush with Death is the best skill you can pick up here. If you go heavy on Ranged, remember to have Arrow Reinforcement.

Rage of Helheim does decent damage, but not nearly as much as on the other drengr bosses, because this one is of a much higher Power Level. Kick of Tyr is a good one to have. You fight in a high flat piece of terrain, but there is s vertical slice on one of the sides and you can kick the boss to his instant death. This is not very honorable, though and steals the fun from defeating him the normal way.

Orwig likes to rush towards you and he opens up and strikes with both hands and both shields. The moment he opens up his shields, you can strike. An ability like Focus of the Nornir would go a good job here, allowing you to hit the boss more times in his weak spots.

Orwig also swings with his two shields a lot. Don’t stand near him if you are out of Stamina. Dodge is your best friend in this fight.
