Harry Potter and I are both grown up… that’s one of the things I can say Daniel Radcliffe and I have in common for sure. I wish we had similar account balances though. That “Harry Potter money” would make my account look pretty nice…hmmmm. Someday. Maybe.

Moving along…
So the last look back for this “Behind the stories” series, I shared my first report which was about 7 years ago.{Click here if you missed it} This time around, I decided not to go too far down memory lane. I wanted to show one of my most recent pieces that aired maybe 2 weeks ago because I just figured it’d be cool to show my first piece and most recent back to back.

The piece is the Daniel Radcliffe interview I did for his romantic comedy “What If.” It’s in theaters now, and is just a well told love story. It makes you feel even luckier if you’ve found true love; makes you want to find it if you haven’t yet; and if you’re afraid to even bother with love, it makes you wonder what could be.

While doing this interview, putting the piece together and watching it – I kept thinking how he’s no longer a kid anymore (I still call him Harry Potter) not to his face before he casts a spell on me; but he is not that little kid anymore.
I’m not just talking about changes in his physical appearance, but also how he has definitely evolved as an actor.
If someone had told me that he would make a great romantic leading man – I woulda given them the side eye, but he proved me wrong. Totally, completely, wrong.

Everything was right about this interview…It was just fun and easy breezy, just the way I like them.He and his co- star Zoe Kazan played along with my silliness.

I try not to take myself serious at all. And I really don’t. There’s no point. So as part of this chat, we talked about what powers we would like to have and why. Harry Potter pretty much implied that I’m a criminal which after you see the interview you’ll agree with him!

Another topic? If the world was coming to an end and we had the chance to do one thing, what would it be?
His answer surprised me…did not see that coming, but I loved it.

Anyway, at the end of the day, both Daniel and Zoe agreed to adopt me. Yup….I’m probably old enough to be their mother, but who’s really checking? Plus, times have changed.

One thing that won’t ever change is my quest to get adopted by a celebrity. And I have a feeling it’s going to happen. If all these celebs are into African children, then why not me?
I totally fit the criteria: I’m African, I was once a child, and I still act like a child. Everyone wins.

So, I’m on the right track with Daniel Radcliffe agreeing to adopt me. I saw him the next day on the red carpet for some event and he remembered me. I’m sure he was thinking there goes that crazy African again. I wouldn’t blame him for that though. As the elders in my village say: “If the shoe fits…”

I’ll stop talking and let you watch the interview…hope you enjoy it. I did…not because I’m in it.No, really…I don’t particularly like to watch or hear myself; not in a bad way o..
I don’t know why…that’s just the way it is 🙂

Oya, here’s my chit chat with Daniel “Harry Potter” Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan.
