Not only do we finally have a release date for the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, there are life sims, flight sims, and other new action-adventures to look forward to in 2024. If you're looking for something to play while you wait for your most anticipated upcoming PC games, you should check out our picks for the best Steam games and best games to play on a laptop – not to mention a collection of the absolute titans of the genre in our best PC games list. For now though, let's take a look at all the new PC games that need to be on your radar for 2024 and beyond.

Recent updates

Our list of upcoming PC games was updated on June 7, adding new release dates and announcements following Summer Game Fest opening night.

Upcoming PC games 2024

Still Wakes the Deep

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (2)

Developer: The Chinese Room
Release date: June 18, 2024

Upcoming first-person horror game Still Wakes the Deep is on the way from Bloodlines 2 developer The Chinese Room. It looks like a uniquely isolating kind of aquatic horror experience, set on an oil rig in the middle of the ocean. With furious waves lashing against the vessel and not another soul in sight (in the trailer, at least), Still Wakes the Deep is looking pretty terrifying already, and we can't wait to get our hands on this desolate upcoming horror game when it finally launches in June.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (3)

Developer: FromSoftware
Release date: June 20, 2024

At long last, the Elden Ring DLC is launching this year. This upcoming PC game might be an expansion to the best FromSoftware game ever, but in many ways, it's its own beast. The developer has been hard at work on Shadow of the Erdtree for years now, and although we've known of its existence for a long time, the DLC was only formally revealed in February 2024. The response has been understandably thunderous, with legions of Tarnished flocking back to the game in preparation for the continuation of Miquella's story this June.

Once Human

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (4)

Release date: July 9

Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

Fans of post-apocalyptic settings and the best survival games, this one's for you. Once Human is an upcoming PC game that puts us right in the middle of a world on the brink of collapse, with friend turned to monstrous foe and fellow survivors turning competition as your vie for resources, shelter, and survival in an unforgiving dystopia. If those stakes weren't high enough, you'll also have to manage the basics of sanity, hunger, and acquiring safe drinking water to stay alive out here - even as a meta-human.

Killer Bean

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (5)

Developer: Killer Bean Studios
Release date: Summer 2024 (Early Access)

Perhaps one of the most bizarre breakout stars of all Summer Game Fest announcements is Killer Bean. This upcoming PC game sees players donning the mantle of a lean, mean Killer Bean hopped up on caffeine as he carries out swift assassinations as a stone-cold contract killer. Its third-person shooter-meets-roguelike machinations means that no two runs will ever be the same, as the story twists and turns to reflect what you manage to uncover on the way. Killer Bean is launching into Early Access later this year, and you best believe it's already on all our Steam wishlists.

Black Myth: Wukong

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (6)

Developer: Game Science
Release date: August 20, 2024

If you're into Soulslikes, you'll want to keep Black Myth: Wukong on your radar. This upcoming PC game is an action-RPG set amid the fantastical world of Chinese folklore. Playing as the Destined One (aka the Monkey King), your task will be to venture out across harsh terrain to face even harsher foes on a quest to uncover the truth behind a long-lost legend. It sounds vague and mysterious enough, but with dynamic magic-infused melee combat and a host of unique powers available to the Destined One, Black Myth: Wukong looks like one punishing game like Elden Ring for FromSoftware fans to anticipate in 2024.

Concord

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (7)

Developer: Firewalk Studios
Release date: August 23, 2024

Firewalk's answer to a Guardians of the Galaxy-toned hero shooter, Concord is an upcoming FPS for PC and PS5 that looks set to pack a wallop. Concord dominated the first half of May's Sony State of Play to give us our proper look at its blend of multiplayer third-person shooter mayhem meets dynamic cinematics that wouldn't be amiss in a Marvel movie. Think Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but as a 5v5 PvP showdown. It's finally got a release date, meaning there's not much longer to wait before we can jump in for ourselves.

Star Wars Outlaws

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (8)

Developer: Massive Entertainment
Release date: August 30, 2024

The brand new upcoming Star Wars game from Ubisoft has a name, and Star Wars Outlaws looks set to bring a very different kind of adventure in a galaxy far, far away when it launches later this summer. Stepping out into the Outer Rim as an all-out scoundrel and space bandit, this is a rare time we won't be playing a jedi but an action hero of an entirely different ilk. Expect to blast through hosts of enemies, or stealth right past them, to complete contracts for clients and be the best outlaw in the universe.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (9)

Developer: Unbroken Studios
Release date: September 5, 2024

Right in time for the start of your next term at Hogwarts, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is lancing on PC on September 5. This is a sports game for everyone who loathes sports games, largely because quidditch is hardly your average sport. Unbroken Studios is blessedly filling the quaffle-shaped hole in the heart of every Hogwarts Legacy fan in this dynamic simulator that will put you head-to-head against rival houses on a quest to catch the Golden Snitch and win victory (and house points) for your squad.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (10)

Developer: GSC Game World
Release date: September 5, 2024

We should have had Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl in our hands by now, although the Russian invasion of Ukraine has severely impacted development and caused a delay into 2024. However, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl's September launch this year will certainly be worth the wait, with developer GSC Game World pushing for a broader, and more expansive rendering of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone in this long-awaited sequel. It looks absolutely stunning, the combat looks weighty and complex, and the new mutants and anomalies are utterly terrifying.

Enotria: The Last Song

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (11)

Developer: Jyamma Games
Release date: September 18, 2024

Enotria: The Last Song is Italy's answer to Bloodborne. This hack n' slash Souslike action game is looking more and more brutal every time we clap eyes on it, with a more recent trailer showing our masked hero going up against an Arlecchino-masked foe in a stylish, violent spin on a Commedia dell'Arte stock character. Much as on the stage, donning a new character mask allows the player to take on specific new skills and attributes, adding further depth to its action-RPG combat systems in a way that already has my full attention. We can expect to see more of Enotria later this year, when it lands on PC and PS5 on September 18.

Silent Hill 2 remake

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (12)

Developer: Bloober Team
Release date: October 8, 2024

Surprise! The assumedly PS5 exclusive Silent Hill 2 remake is landing on PC as well on October 8, marking Konami's first remake endeavor in its long-running survival horror series. Get ready to step back into James Sunderland's tortured shoes as he investigates a mysteriously letter supposedly sent to him by his deceased ex-wife, forced to battle all manner of horrific foes and iconic villains all the while. I won't spoil what makes this one of the best Silent Hill games ever, but if you missed out on the initial PS2 and Xbox launch back in 2001, Bloober's Silent Hill 2 is one grisly terror worth checking out in 2024.

Sonic x Shadow Generations

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (13)

Developer: Sonic Team
Release date: October 25, 2024

It's time to regroup with our favorite SEGA stalwarts in Sonic X Shadow Generations, an upcoming PC game that's positioned to launch on October 25. The reveal trailer shown at Summer Game Fest is delightfully bizarre, featuring the dual heroes in myriad platforming and pinball-esque shenanigans in fresh 2D and 3D adventures. We'll be delving into Shadow's backstory to learn more about his roots, uncovering why he's truly the Ultimate Life Form we know and love to this day, before taking the fight to Black Doom for a final showdown.

No More Room in Hell 2

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (14)

Developer: Torn Banner Studios
Release date: Halloween 2024

The sequel to one of the most tense co-op horror games ever is on the way. No More Room in Hell 2 is bigger and better than before, its sprawling map filled with all kinds of terrors to keep you and up to 7 fellow players on your toes. Be on your guard against the gaping maws of those hungry zombies, because No More Room in Hell 2's permadeath will see you down for the count faster than you can say "ouch" if you're not careful. Fans of Phasmophobia, Lethal Company, and Devour: look no further for your next co op fix, because this upcoming horror game is landing into Early Access this Halloween.

Slitterhead

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (15)

Developer: Bokeh Game Studio
Release date: November 8, 2023

Body horror lovers have a lot to get hyped for in Slitterhead. Fresh from the sick minds of Silent Hill veterans, this upcoming horror game is launching on PC in November as a delectably disgusting palate cleanser. The reveal trailer shown at Summer Game Fest has immediately made this one horror game to watch, featuring all manner of head-popping mutants to slay in a city besieged by an unspeakable viral terror.

Assassin's Creed Shadows

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (16)

Developer: Ubisoft Quebec
Release date: November 15, 2024

The next RPG entry in Ubisoft's beloved stealth-action series is Assassin's Creed Shadows, nee Codename Red. Of all the upcoming Assassin's Creed games from currently in development, this feudal Japan-set adventure is one for the Ghost of Tsushima fans out there to sink their katanas into. Riffing off Ubi Quebec's work on AC Syndicate, we will also get the choice between two protagonists - Japan's first Black samurai Yasuke, and more stealth-focussed shinobi Naoe- as we navigate an overlapping historical adventure of political mystery. Oh, and did we mention grappling hooks are making a comeback?

TBC 2024

33 Immortals

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (17)

Developer: Thunder Lotus
Release date: TBC 2024

This Hades-like isometric roguelike is casting its net wide, as 33 Immortals is a 33-player hack n'slash action-adventure where you rally against almighty power. It'll be a battle of massive proportions compared to what you might be familiar with in Supergiant's smash hit dungeon crawler, as all 33 of you must work together to survive hordes of monsters before going toe-to-toe with the deities themselves.

Ark 2

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (18)

Developer: Studio Wildcard
Release date: TBC 2024

With Ark 2, Studio Wildcard is building on the success of Ark: Survival Evolved and delivering a massive sequel with heaps of potential. The campaign is set to star noted Ark superfan Vin Diesel, while the game itself will feature a larger play space, more dynamic world events and dinosaur AI, and overhauled progression and survival systems. With Ark 2 being built with Unreal Engine 5, this could be one of the best looking games of 2024 – now we're just waiting on a release date.

Avowed

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (19)

Developer: Obsidian Entertainment
Release date: Q3/Q4 2024

One of the most exciting upcoming Xbox exclusives coming to PC in 2024 is Obsidian's Avowed. The first-person RPG takes place in the studio's Pillars of Eternity universe, but this time, we'll be seeing the world of Eora in a whole new light. With a combination of magic and melee combat skills at our disposal, as well as the help of numerous companions to meet on our journey, Avowed promises the kind of thrilling narrative-driven experience we'd expect from the Pentiment and Outer Worlds developer. Will we go rogue and give in to the mysterious disease permeating the kingdom, or fight back for Eora? The choice will be yours when Avowed launches at an as-yet unknown date in 2024.

Clockwork Revolution

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (20)

Developer: inXile
Release date: TBC 2024

One of the coolest-looking upcoming PC games is Clockwork Revolution, a steampunk action adventure that resembles BioShock Infinite. There's no official release date just yet, but what we saw at the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase gives us reason to get excited. Right now it's expected to launch sometime in 2024, so it's definitely one to add to your list.

Dune: Awakening

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (21)

Developer: Funcom
Release date: TBC 2024

Arrakis is getting the MMO treatment in Dune: Awakening, an upcoming PC game from Conan Exiles developer Funcom. This survival adventure sees players fighting to stay alive in the most unforgiving of landscapes: a desert planet where water is as scarce as hope. With a vague release window slated for sometime in 2024 as our only guide, we'll be keeping a close eye on Funcom for an update on its sci-fi MMO over the coming months.

Flintlock: Siege of Dawn

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (22)

Developer: A44 Games
Release date: TBC 2024

Developer of A44 Games, the developer behind the delightful soulslike Ashen, is an all-new RPG that'll see you venture into a sprawling fantasy world. Where Flintlock: Siege of Dawn has caught our eye so far is in the rhythm to its combat, where you're able to master a range of magical weapons and abilities to fend off powerful creatures. Flintlock: Siege of Dawn looks great, has an interesting approach to exploration, and really killer combat.

Hollow Knight: Silksong

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (23)

Developer: Team Cherry
Release date: TBC 2024

Team Cherry started out by developing DLC for Hollow Knight, one of the best metroidvania games of the modern era, and the scope of the project quickly spiralled out of control. That's why, after numerous delays, we're getting Hollow Knight: Silksong in "early 2024". The long-awaited sequel will feature all new combat mechanics, characters, and worlds to learn and explore, and despite all these years of waiting, we're still excited to jump back in.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (24)

Developer: MachineGames
Release date: TBC 2024

The new Indiana Jones game from the creators of Wolfenstein finally has a name. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an upcoming PC game many of us have been begging for since we we were kids, and thank goodness it'll be launching on Xbox Game Pass for PC on day-one. This first-person action-adventure sees Indy in full swing, complete with the help of his trusty whip to get him out of sticky situations. Following an extended gameplay reveal earlier in 2024, we know now to expect The Great Circle before the year is out – and we'll be crossing our fingers until then.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (25)

Developer: Warhorse Studios
Release date: TBC 2024

More medieval RPG goodness is on the way in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Warhorse is set to take us back to 15th-century Bohemia as our hero Henry continues his pursuit of vengeance in honor of his family, only this time, the ante has been upped significantly in almost every respect. The reveal trailers we've seen so far show off the dynamic first-person combat in stunning incredible graphical fidelity, with Warhorse promising veritable hours of cutscenes in this sprawling RPG for extra narrative immersion. We can't wait to see more of KCD2 as it inches closer to its as-yet unconfirmed 2024 release date, but for now, we're eating good.

Lego Horizon Adventures

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (26)

Developer: Guerrilla Games
Release date: Holidays 2024

Have you ever wished to see Horizon Zero Dawn's Aloy cut about with a literal hotdog? Well, Lego Horizon Adventures seeks to make that dream a reality. This kooky upcoming PC game is set to launch around December this year, judging from the Holidays 2024 ballpark offered by Guerrilla Games at its big Summer Game Fest reveal. Its brightly-colored co-op machinations featuring a minifig-ified interpretation of Aloy in a blocky new world is a far cry from the sobering nature of its source material, but that only adds to the intrigue.

Little Nightmares 3

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (27)

Developer: Supermassive Games
Release date: TBC 2024

Bandia Namco's unnerving horror-platformer series is back. We heard from Little Nightmares 3 developer Supermassive Games at Gamescom 2023, where they told us all about what it's like to be spearheaded the third instalment. We know the first chapter takes us through the arid plains of Necripolis, with the horrifying Monster Baby chasing down our two new protagonists Low and Alone. LN3 will also be the first in the series to go the multiplayer route, with it being an optional game mode if you want to play the game with friend via local couch co-op.

Lost Records: Bloom and Rage

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (28)

Developer: Don't Nod
Release date: TBC 2024

The studio that brought us Vampyr and Life is Strange is returning with another meaningful narrative adventure. Set partly in 1995, this nostalgic adventure introduces us to four friends as they make memories and grow closer in the mid 90s before jumping ahead 27 years later. All we know is that a "long buried secret" is the catalyst for their reunion, though it also is why they vowed to never speak again.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (29)

Developer: Digital Eclipse
Release date: TBC 2024

If the theme song doesn't get you hyped, this one ain't for you. However, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind is a nostalgic blast from the not-too distant past for many of us, a side-scrolling pixel beat-'em-up that pits our heroes against their long-time nemesis Robo-Rita one more time. Keep this one in your books if you're hankering for some arcade fighting game shenanigans later in 2024, with a healthy dose of headbanging to boot because that theme song still shreds to this very day.

Neva

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (30)

Developer: Nomada Studios
Release date: TBC 2024

If you loved Nomada Studios' last game, Gris, then it looks like Neva is going to be entirely your jam. It tells the story of a woman who forges a lifelong bond with a giant wolf in a dying world. It's essentially a game about the relationship between children and parents, with you having to care for the young wolf as it grows against a backdrop of environmental devastation.

Towers of Aghasba

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (31)

Developer: Dreamlit Inc
Release date: TBC 2024

Towers of Aghasba is from a new studio called Dreamlit Inc. It'll see you building your own vast settlement and associated ecosystems on a fantasy island. You can create your civilization however you want, but you'll have to think about maintaining the island's ecosystem at the same time. If you don't, you'll have the literal gods to answer for, which is quite the take on your usual city-builder.

Unknown 9: Awakening

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (32)

Developer: Reflector Entertainment
Release date: Fall 2024

Traveling beyond the veil is easy in Unknown 9: Awakening, an upcoming action-adventure game slated to launch on PC and consoles this autumn. As Haroona, a woman born with a mystical gift to travel between realms, we'll be uncovering the mysteries of The Fold to combat an oppressive secret society called the Ascendants. This narrative-driven stealth game looks set to offer flavors of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden meets Assassin's Creed Mirage, meaning it's already high on my list of game to watch in 2024 even after a relatively short trailer reveal at Summer Game Fest.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (33)

Developer: The Chinese Room
Release date: TBC 2024

It's been two decades since the first game, but Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 is intended to launch in mid-2024. The much-anticipated sequel to a cult classic RPG, Bloodlines 2 has emerged from a rocky developmental period with tons to show for it, including post-alpha gameplay, four playable vampire clans upon release, and plenty of planned DLC to boot. Bloodlines 2 is a "neo-noir thriller" that will see us step into the shoes of customizable main character Phyre, a recently re-awoken Elder vampire who finds themselves in the middle of a very different Boston Camarilla than they remember. As a powerful child of the night grappling with the newness of the modern world, this might just be the vampire RPG experience we've been waiting for since Troika Games' original.

Wanderstop

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (34)

Developer: Ivy Road
Release date: TBC 2024

If cozy narrative-driven adventures are your bag, Wanderstop is an upcoming PC game to keep an eye on. It's yet to receive a firm release date, but after a promising showing at Summer Game Fest 2024, this tea-brewing and crafting sim has our full attention. You play as Alta, a fighter-turned-forest-dweller who now spends her time gathering items from the magical woodland to brew a variety of tasty teas to sell and share in what sounds like a beautifully relaxing, moving story about change, connection, and sharing warmth with others. Sign me right up.

Windblown

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (35)

Developer: Motion Twin
Release date: TBC 2024

One upcoming PC game we have our eye on is Windblown, a new rogue game in development from the studio that brought us Dead Cells. On its Steam page, Motion Twin describes it as a "lightning-fast action roguelite" where you "become the ultimate killing machine". That's pretty heavy stuff for a game that looks this cute and vibrant. Windblown will also support multiplayer mode on launch, making it one to watch for any hack n'slash fans who like to squad up.

TBC 2025

Civilization 7

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (36)

Developer: Firaxis games
Release date: TBC 2025

There's no firm release date for it yet, but one of the best 4X games series ever is finally giving us a new helping. Civilization 7 is officially in the works over at Firaxis Games, and the reveal trailer shown at Summer Game Fest 2024 has us ooh-ing and ahh-ing over it already. It's been eight long years since the last entry in the long-running strategy sim saga, so it's safe to say that even a glimpse at the cryptic teaser has been enough to set our minds whirring with all the possibilities that Civilization 7 might have to offer come 2025.

TBC

Delta Force: Hawk Ops

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (37)

Developer: Team Jade
Release date: TBC

Described as the love child of Battlefield meets Call of Duty, one of the best-loved FPS series is returning for more cover shooter shenanigans in Delta Force: Hawk Ops. With a new developer at the helm, Hawk Ops puts a fresh spin on the extraction shooter series that saw massive popularity back in the late 90s and early-2000s, throwing the player into either a massive-map battle royale or narrative-led campaign mode with an arsenal of powerful weapons at your disposal. What's more? It's fully movie-licensed for all your Black Hawk Down fans. It's yet to receive a firm release date, but with pre-alpha tests in the books, Delta Force: Hawk Ops is one to keep an eye on.

Fable 4

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (38)

Developer: Playground Games
Release date: TBC

Playground's upcoming RPG Fable will be the fourth ever game in the series, but the very first under the new developer after Lionhead Studios folded six years after Fable 3. We'd originally thought it a long-awaited sequel, but more recent cinematic sneak peeks from Playground Games have revealed Fable to be more of a series reboot. It's still set in the glittering medieval fantasy kingdom of Albion, still features that crass tongue-in-cheek British sense of humor we loved about the original trilogy, but the new Fable game is set to bring it into the 2020s with style. There's still no word yet on when the game might launch, but we're keeping an ear to the ground for this one.

Fairgames

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (39)

Developer: Haven
Release date: TBC

Fairgame$ - as it's officially styled - is a new heist game from Jade Raymond's new studio Haven. It's been born from the gang's desire to create a PvP game with emergent sandbox gameplay, where you'll be breaking into forbidden locations dotted all over the world. Prize open safes and vaults, fill your pockets, and even discover billionaire's hidden plans for secret stuff along the way.

Haunted Chocolatier

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (40)

Developer: ConcernedApe
Release date: TBC

Following the unbelievable success of Stardew Valley, developer Eric 'ConcernedApe' Barone has the freedom to work on whatever he wants to. Which is one reason why Haunted Chocolatier has so easily captured our attention. In this upcoming RPG, we'll be taking on the role of a chocolate maker living in a fantasy castle, and we're already in love with it. Spooky settings, a cool visual style, and a smart iteration of the core Stardew systems make this one of the most highly anticipated new PC games out there - even if we have no idea when we could possibly be seeing it.

Life By You

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (41)

Developer: Paradox Tectonic
Release date: TBC

Paradox Interactive announced Life By You with a very brief teaser which gives us a glimpse of what looks set to be an alternative to The Sims. The initial trailer shows off a virtual house and family, with house building tools and mechanics that certainly appear to share similarities with the popular life sim. What stands out the most, though, is the more open looking world not unlike the structure of The Sims 3, with a car driving through a city, and shots of a beach. It's sadly been delayed once again, so we'll be crossing our fingers to see this upcoming PC game sooner rather than later for now.

Marathon

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (42)

Developer: Bungie
Release date: TBC

Marathon is the revival of Bungie's shooter that was in development before Destiny. It's an extraction shooter, we guess in the vein of Escape from Tarkhov or Rainbow Six Extraction. We're already loving the art style, and with Bungie's shooting at the heart, this one is going to be one to pay attention to.Rumor has it the Marathon remake release date has been pushed to 2025, so it might be some time yet before we get our hands on Bungie's revival.

Marvel's Blade

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (43)

Developer: Arkane Studios
Release date: TBC

A standout moment from The Game Awards 2023 was the announcement that Marvel's Blade is in development. The teaser trailer lets on very little, save that the iconic vampire hero of comic book legend is to make his long-awaited return to video games at some point in the next few years. Being made in tandem with Xbox, it's not expected to load outside the Xbox Series X or PC platforms. A bummer for Sony fans, but good news for us PC players keen to sink our teeth into a dynamic single-player experience.

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (44)

Developer: Konami
Release date: TBC

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is the long-awaited remake of Metal Gear Solid 3. According to the developer, it's going to be a faithful story recreation, but offer players evolved gameplay and visuals. However, looking at some of the screenshots so far, it's a pretty faithful protrayal of some of those original environments too.

Phantom Blade 0

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (45)

Developer: S-Game
Release date: TBC

Phantom Blade 0 is a hack-n-slash RPG that's "the spiritual rebirth of the original Rainblood". It's an Unreal Engine 5 creation, which is allowing it to be much larger and richer than the source material, without losing its core. Set in the Phantom World, you'll blend Chinese Kungfu, with occult arts, and other powers that make Phantom Blade 0 a little different. You play as assassin, Soul, who's been framed for murdering the patriarch of a powerful organization known only as The Order. Technically he's been brought back from the dead, but now only has 66 days left to find out who framed him in the first place.

South of Midnight

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (46)

Developer: Compulsion Games
Release date: TBC

We've seen hide nor hair of Compulsion Games since South of Midnight was announced during 2023's summer Xbox Showcase, but this upcoming PC game is still front of mind. A short cinematic teaser trailer introduced us to the folklore-steeped world of this deep South action-adventure, and there's not much more we know about it just yet. The We Happy Few developer seems to have been sitting on this one for awhile now, so all we can do is wait patiently for more news!

Sword of the Sea

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (47)

Developer: Giant Squid
Release date: TBC

You'd be forgiven if you thought this was Journey 2. It's close, and made by some of the same people. Sword of the Sea is brought to you by Giant Squid, which has delivered Abzu and The Pathless to date, and it sees you playing as a character called Wraith. You'll be zooming around an abandoned realm on a Hoversword (yes you read that right), exploring the Necropolis of the Gods, but also trying to avoid the leviathans that dwell there. It looks exceptionally beautiful and zen, and we can't wait to see more.

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (48)

Developer: Paper Cult
Release date: TBC

Tears of Metal screams “Freedom” as its clans descend on the battlefield in a roguelike co-op hack n slash. The almost comic-book art style hides brutal skirmishes between legions of medieval Scottish fighters, but there’s a common enemy afoot. A fiery meteor has crashed into a distant island, and our battalions are facing an oncoming invasion like no other. It’s not all stabby stabby, though, the trailer gave us a first look at some interesting management and strategy mechanics that will serve each run as well. Tears of Metal is due to land in 2025 on Steam.

Witchbrook

Upcoming PC games for 2024 and beyond (49)

Developer: Chucklefish
Release date: TBC

Will 2024 be the year we finally see Witchbrook, the new life sim from developer Chucklefish? We certainly hope so, as Witchbrook looks to be an utterly charming experience. You'll take on the role of a witch in training, and then be given the freedom to define your route to graduation. Stunning pixel art, deep progression systems, and smart expansions of everything Chucklefish learned working with ConcernedApe on Stardew Valley. Witchbrook looks like a magical adventure you won't want to miss out on.
