While it's fairly commonplace for dead characters to be resurrected in comics, there's far more evidence that Ivy will return beyond the meta reasoning. A lot of the moments in this story arc pay homage to the infamous '90s storyline The Death of Superman. These range from Ivy facing off against a seemingly impossible threat and sacrificing herself to save everyone else, to Harley holding Ivy mirroring the way Lois holds Superman. It's clear that her "death" will be reversed in a future issue, just like how Superman was brought back during the Reign of the Supermen arc.

Regardless of her likely return, though, this massive death featuring one of Gotham's most notable villains is sure to break the hearts of countless fans of the character and her relationship with Harley. She's made great strides over the years as she toes the line of becoming an antihero, and now her sacrifice has solidified her new role in the DC Universe. However, it all came at a massive cost as Poison Ivy's official death destroys every Harlivy fan with an impactful and heartbreaking final image.
